Barn Pulley Light in BlackI’ve seen some pretty cool barn pulley lights lately, but none that can create a focal point like this one.

How to Use a Barn Pulley Lamp:

You can use this barn pulley light alone as an entryway chandelier or lighting over a dining room table. In addition, this style of lamp can be used in multiples over a kitchen bar or pool table.

On top of that, you can hang this industrial lamp over a covered patio outdoors.

I also like the fact that this pulley light is versatile. You can adjust the height of the hanging bulbs, and you can also remove the cages too.

This also means that if you have other vintage lamp shades that you prefer to use, you can simply switch them out. By the way, you can also dim the lights.

Recycled Barn Pulleys?

These barn pulleys are actually recycled. Each lamp has it’s own distinctive style (although it’s difficult to see by the photos because they are very similar). I like knowing that my barn pulley has its own unique history that is different from other lamps.

Did you know that there are lots of different kinds of antique pulleys, and that the barnyard pulley is collected the most? They were typically used to lift bales of hay into the lofts of barns

They look and feel solid. Even if hung at eye level, you can tell that they are high-quality. You’ll be proud to show them off.

The following slide show basically displays different types of industrial pulley lights, but it also provides lots of ideas for how and where to hang them.

Wall Pulley Lights:

Wall Pulley Light with Cage Lampshade and Edison BulbYou can also get pulley lamps that you can attach on a wall. Not all fixtures have an adjustable height, instead some are more decorative.

That said, many people don’t need adjustable height wall lamps because they install them at the height they want. For example, install them higher up by an entryway door or above a desk. On the other hand, you can place them lower to use as bedside lights above your nightstand tables.
